Keeping your money safe with 3D Secure
What is 3D Secure?
One of our constant priorities here at Pockit is to make sure that your money is safe. This is particularly important when you’re using your Pockit card to shop online. You may not know it, but we have a highly trained and dedicated team working 24/7 to make sure we can spot anything unusual in your account activity. If we see anything that doesn’t look right, we’ll contact you right away.

In fact, we really pride ourselves on making sure that there’s a personal element to our service, so that you can speak to real human beings about your problems, and our team will always work tirelessly to help you fix them. However, when it comes to spotting unusual or fraudulent activity, we’re always looking to be even better than we already are.
That’s why, in Spring 2019, we are introducing a new free service to give you even more protection when you’re shopping online. This service is called 3D Secure (3DS) — you may already be aware of it if you have used a different card online recently.
How it works
So, how exactly does 3D Secure work? Here’s what will happen when you make an online payment using your Pockit card…
1. Just carry on shopping online as you normally do.
2. If the transaction needs extra verification, you will be presented with this page after clicking ‘pay’.
This is a secure page and you won’t need to enter any personal details, so the whole process will be completely safe. Just look out for the Pockit and MasterCard logos and check the transaction information.
3. Next, you’ll receive a text message on the mobile number linked to your Pockit account, just enter the code in the box labelled below.
Quick tip: It’s worth double checking the mobile number you have on your account now to make sure it’s up to date.
4. That’s it! Your payment will be processed as normal and you’ll be returned to the merchant’s website.
While humans are usually better than computers at talking to you and helping you, we’ve got to admit that you can’t beat an advanced and sophisticated algorithm when it comes to automatically spotting unusual activity on your account.
Thanks to 3DS, we can quickly assess each transaction you make online, either approving it in real time, or in some cases asking you to require a bit more information to verify that it’s really you.

As always, we will never ask you for your PIN, your password, or your full security answer, and we will never ask you to give us access to your account.
Similarly, nobody from Pockit will ever ask you to move your money to a “safe account” — this is a common scam designed to convince people to transfer all their money to fraudsters.
Your Pockit account is a safe account, and it’s now going to be even safer.
This is because we want you to have peace of mind when you use your card. Having a Pockit card should give you the freedom you need to shop online, to enjoy the benefits and savings that come through having access to electronic payments.
